Allison Michelle Powell

Allison Michelle Powell, 41, of Simi Valley, California passed away on July 4, 2023 at her home.

Allison‘s Celebration of Life will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home & Cremation, 4444 Cochran St., Simi Valley, CA 93063 on July 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Jonathan Milford officiating.

Allison Michelle Blakely was born in Richmond, VA, to Bruce Jeryl Blakely and Tamara Allanson Blakely on July 30, 1981. She graduated from Varina High School in 1999 and attended college for a short time before starting her career at Colony Insurance Co. She worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years in various positions at various companies. She was an insurance underwriter at Markel Insurance for a majority of that time. Her most recent position was with Zurich. Allison enjoyed creative activities like scrapbooking, crocheting, and making keepsake gifts for family and friends. She loved watching Olivia’s dance and gymnastics classes and competitions and Jacob’s baseball and football games. Her interests ranged from astrology, paranormal investigations, tarot readings, crystals, journaling, and antiquing. She was passionate about skincare and loved creating new looks every time she received her surprise makeup packages in the mail. Some of her relaxation time was spent watching cooking shows and murder mysteries on TV and listening to her favorite podcasts. She especially loved spending time with family on outings and holidays.

Allison is survived by Rick Powell and her beloved children, Olivia and Jacob Powell of Simi Valley, CA, her sister, Jennifer Blakely (Virgil Sullivan) of Poway, CA, her mother, Tamara Blakely, and grandmothers, Betty Ann Allanson of Richmond, VA, and Sarah Dallas Cox of Headland, AL, her Aunts and Uncles, William Blakely (Susan), Kevin Blakely (Connie), Diane Hutchison (Gary), Tina Foreman (Barry) of Richmond, VA, Lori Behm (Scott) of Anchorage, AK, her cousins, Melanie Allanson (Niall) of Tullyallen, Ireland, Katie Behm, Shelly Behm, Chris Behm of AK, Bridget Taylor (Nick), Michelle Wingfield, Katie Hutchison, Chris Hutchison (Kelsey) of VA. Her precious nieces and nephews, Janin Sullivan, Justis Sullivan, Caleb Evans (Taylor), Joshua Evans (Corrine), Hailey Evans, Ryan Powell, Tyler Powell of CA, and Rick’s parents, Richard and Patricia Powell of AZ, Matt and Dana Powell, James Evans of CA and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Allison is preceded in death by her father, Bruce Blakely, her grandfathers, Frederick Allanson, Richard Cox, and grandmother, Beulah Beryl Cox, her cousin, Jamie Allanson of VA, Kim Evans of CA and her beloved Ninie.
