Britt Mitchell Hesse

In Memory of our beloved son Britt Mitchell Hesse of Reseda, Ca.

Britt Hesse passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday November 29th, 2023, at the age of 55 while being cared for at USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca.

Britt was born to parents Brian and Barbara Hesse on July 7th, 1968, in Hawthorne Ca. Growing up the youngest of three and attended school in the San Fernando Valley including Canoga Park High School. In the year 2000 Britt married Kris Day, when their son Jake Day-Hesse was young. While the marriage did not last, Britt and Kris remained good friends and co-parents. Britt was a wonderful father who never missed a game during many years of Jake playing soccer. Britt enjoyed being a stay-at-home dad in the early years for Jake. Britt and Jake enjoyed the outdoors, camping, riding dirt bikes, off-road motorcycles, with many trips over the years in Britts blue Chevy Truck.

Britt worked at MGI/Metala Graphics, Inc. in Moorpark, Ca. he enjoyed working with his hands, and learning various equipment in the process of making aircraft parts for the past 17 years.

Britt is survived by his son Jake Day-Hesse of West Hills, Ca. His parents Brian and Barbara Hesse of Atascadero, Ca. Sister Marcia and Husband Mick Schullo of La Mesa, Ca. Brother James Hesse of Atascadero, Ca., and his girlfriend Jane Westover of Reseda, Ca. We learned recently that Britt had planned to propose to Jane on New Year's Eve.

Britt loved the outdoors, and he spent much time with his friends enjoying camping, fishing, surfing, dirt bike riding, and riding his Harley Davidson with the Early Riders Club, he was proud of his motorcycle and becoming a member of the riding club. Britt and Jane went on rides to the beach and had many plans for future rides together. Britt’s dog also named Harley, is a sweet and beautiful pit-bull, and his other pets included cats, and our families long time family of tortoises.

Britt enjoyed cooking, barbecuing for family and friends, and his contagious laugh and fun sense of humor brought many smiles, his bright smile made everyone smile with him. Britt will forever be missed, he will be forever loved by his family, many friends, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will take place on January 20th, 2024, 1pm - 4pm at Rose Family Funeral Home with a reception following. Please RSVP to help us confirm the number of attendees for the reception. Due to the cemetery hours and location being at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, the burial of ashes will take place on Monday morning January 22nd, all are welcome to join the family. More details to follow at the service.
