Cecilia R. Melgar

Cecilia Raquel Melgar, age 86, died Friday, June 9, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family as she passed away peacefully at home.

Cecilia is survived by her daughter Ana Leavitt, son-in-law Bill Leavitt, son Ivan Elias, daughter-in-law Debbie Rhodes and five grandchildren: Grace Leavitt, Allen Leavitt, John Leavitt, Tyler Rhodes and Keara Rhodes. She is also survived by her dear aunt Juana Carmen Melara, cousin Ana Ruth Melara and the rest of the loving Melara family.

A devout Catholic, Cecilia was known for her perseverance and sharp-wittedness. She doted over her grandchildren, always showering them with unconditional patience and love.

To her daughter and son, she was an incredible role model for hard work and dedication, who did whatever she needed to provide as a wonderful single mother.

We will cherish our memories of her and always be grateful for the many sacrifices she made for the sake of her children and family. Her love and generosity had no boundaries.

A Catholic Service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Oakwood Memorial Park Chapel in Chatsworth, California (22601 Lassen St).
