Christian Douglas Kinney

Christian D. Kinney (52 years old) of Woodland Hills, CA, died on December 7th of complications of throat cancer. He received his B.A. from the University of Maryland and his M.A. from California State University, Northridge. For the last 13 years he was a teacher at Portola Middle School in Tarzana, CA. Previously he worked in publishing and was a researcher and writer at Time-Life Books and an editor for a book series on the Olympic Games for World Sports.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Kinney, his children Alexandra (13), Nicole (11), and Eli (9), his brother Michael, and his mother Karin.

Funeral services will be for family only on Saturday, December 12th, with a casual gathering planned at home to remember Christian on Sunday, December 13th, between 2 and 5 p.m.
