In Loving Memory of Christine Julia Kocik

Chris Kocik (67) of Simi Valley, California, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Chris was born in July 1958, in California, to Robert and Catherine Robinson. She graduated from Monroe High School, North Hills, in 1976. She continued her education at CSUN graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education.

She worked at Limerick Elementary School in Canoga Park for over 30 years. She loved teaching young impressionable children so spent most of her career teaching Kindergarten and First Grade.

Her grandchildren cherished memories include camping trips by the beach with Grandma, roasting marshmallows over the fire, reading picture books, and receiving handmade quilts and pillows. They adored her dearly and will hold onto these memories forever.

Chris had a special love for animals. Growing up she had animals large and small. From a horse, Great Danes, a Goat, a Java Macaque Monkey, a Chihuahua, and more.

She opened her home to fostering dogs with (ARV) Animal Rescue Volunteers for over a decade. Then she did the same for cats working with Pink Paws. Her specialty was the disabled and/or pregnant mamma cats. Nursing the babies and finding loving homes. Chris also volunteered at the Spay and Neuter Clinic in Simi Valley, where she found great joy in helping animals.

Chris is survived by her devoted husband (of 43 years), Mike Kocik; her two brothers Robert and Danny, her sister Diane; her children, Sean (wife Emily) and Micaela (husband Dave); her four amazing grandchildren, all under the age of ten. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Catherine Robinson.

With the upcoming holidays and family birthdays, a “Celebration of Life” is being planned for January 24, 2026.
