Daniel Roger Davies

Long-time Ventura County resident, Dan Davies, passed away on January 5, 2017, at his home in Ventura, California.

Born November 8, 1955, to Elena and Stan Davies, Dan is survived by his sisters Elenna Turner, Pat Halliday, Janet Benjamin, and Gwyneth Davies; his nieces and nephews Cate, Dean, David, and Brenna, and his great-nieces and nephews Gavyn, Ian, Aileen, and Cole.

Dan graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in La Palma, California. He earned his Apprenticeship as a Pipefitter in December of 1984, and worked for over 30 years in the field.

Dan has been a member of the Calvary Chapel of Oxnard for several years. His interests included surfing, country western dancing, working out, and enjoying health foods.

He will be missed by his family and friends, but he is now resting in peace with the Lord.

Safely Home

I am home in heaven, dear ones;

in this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,

every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever,

safely home in heaven at last.

Try to look beyond death’s shadows;

Pray to trust our Father’s will.

There is work still waiting for you,

so you must not idly stand.

Do it now, while life remaineth;

you shall rest in Jesus’ land.

When that work is all completed,

He will gently call you home;

Oh, the rapture of that meeting;

Oh, the joy to see you come!
