David was born late in life to his mother Flora (Flo) Uhlig, at age 40, on December 7, 1967 the 42nd birthday of his father D. Theodore (Ted) Uhlig. At his birth, both sisters’ Deborah age 11 and Diane age 15 became his second mothers, feeding and changing him as if he was their own. Needless to say, David was lavished with love and attention.
David grew to have a love for music and an artistic flair which came out in his choice of attire and especially his hats. He enjoyed shopping, refinishing furniture, painting, decorating, and Disneyland.
In 2013 David survived colon cancer and received a new found love of life. This surgery was a blessed gift from his Lord which guided the surgeon’s hand giving David a new lease on life. David’s constant smile was now added to his attire.
David passed away from blood clots in his lungs, and legs on December 19,, 2015 with his immediate family surrounding him. He came late in life to his Mother and was a blessing to her through his life and left us too soon. His passing leaves another hole in the family until we are once again all united in heaven with our Lord and Savior.
David was preceded by his father in 2003 and leaves his mother, sisters, brother, Daniel Uhlig, brother-in-law Michael Gummelt, niece Stephanie Arruda, and nephews Christopher Gummelt, Wayne Darland, Benjamin Gummelt, and Steven Darland.
