Denver David Smith ("Deed"), a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 23, 2025, at his home in Simi Valley. He was 69.
Born and raised in Simi Valley, Denver graduated from Simi Valley High School in 1973. He built a 20-year career as a Receiving Supervisor at Home Depot, known for his hard work, loyalty, and the friendships he formed along the way.
Denver embraced life fully and poured his heart into the people around him. He loved golfing with his buddies, fishing with his brothers, and spending time with his wife, sons, grandchildren, and most recently, his great-grandson. A true family man, he was always present — showing up with a smile, lending a hand, and always there to support the ones he loved. His booming laugh and big personality filled every room he entered. He had a gift for turning strangers into friends and ordinary days into unforgettable stories — some of which grew a little taller with each telling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Adrienne Elaine Smith; his children, Denver Lynn Smith and Sean Alan Smith; his grandchildren, Rilee, Reagan, Denver, and Malena; his great-grandson, Ryker; his mother, Joyce Elizabeth Malone of Lancaster; his siblings, John, Anthony, and Calinda, along with their spouses; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held on October 11th at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Claver in Simi Valley, with a reception to follow.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered love, support, and prayers during this time. Your kindness means more than words can express.
He didn’t just live — he showed us how to live. With joy, with a loving heart, with laughter, and a spirit that will stay with us forever.
