Donald Arthur Lindquester passed away on November 30, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5th at Noon at Rose Family Funeral Home in Simi Valley.
“Don” was born May 29, 1927 to Charles and Florence Lindquester in Salamanca, NY, and was raised in that area until he joined the Army and served in Italy as a military policeman.
He met his wife-to-be when he was fourteen and they married years later in 1948. They were married 66 years and had four children, Eric, Stephen, Rhonda, and Daniel.
Don could do most carpentry and electrical jobs along with some plumbing. This came in handy when he went to work at the Simi Valley Parks District as a member of the Building Maintenance Crew. He retired in 1986 after 20 years of service.
All through his married life, he loved to RV. This included a trip to Alaska after he retired. He also took a lot of pictures through the years and he ended up spending many hours on his computer scanning them onto CD’s.
Don and Phyllis had a good life together and in lieu of flowers would wish for donations to be made to Cancer Research Foundation.
