Elsie Helen Soltys

Elsie Helen Soltys, 91, of Winnetka, CA, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Simi Valley, CA.

Memorial service will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home, 4444 Cochran Street, Simi Valley, CA 93063, on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.

Elsie was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Stefan and Dorothy Shmigelsky on August 5, 1923. She went to high school in Canada and moved to the United States after her marriage to Walter Soltys. Elsie worked as a sales manager for Broadway/Macy’s for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, reading and the Los Angeles Dodgers. She volunteered for a number of years at the Wilkinson Senior Citizen Center.

Elsie is survived by her children Sandy, Wayne, Sharon, and Wendy, as well as her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Soltys, as well as her parents and eight brothers and sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Vintage Simi Hills for their compassionate caring these last few months.
