Someone wrote on our families fund page:
In October of 2013, Emerson Gonzalez (age 29) woke up vomiting one morning. His wife, Nancy, thought it just might be the flu. When arriving back home after work, she found Emerson barely conscious and knew immediately something was wrong. Emerson was seen at the ER and immediately was transferred to Keck USC Hopsital in Los Angeles where he would have brain surgery to save his life from a massive brain hermorrhage that had ruptured. At the same time, Nancy was due to give birth to their baby girl, Alicia, who would make Aiden (their son who was 7) a big brother! A few weeks after Alicia was born and Nancy was set to return to work, the Doctors found a very aggressive malignant brain tumor in Emerson. Emerson was facing yet another brain surgery! Following the surgery; daily radiation and rounds of chemotherapy were scheduled. This past year has been a year of surgeries, many hospital stays, multiple seizures, and blood transfusions. Last week Emerson and Nancy were informed that Emerson's cancer is terminal. More brain tumors have since grown and the cancer has spread to his spinal fluid and spine. Emerson is now back in the hospital at Keck USC. Any future treatments (if any) would prolong Emerson's life, but could potentially pose risks. With thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars in medical bills and two beautiful children to care for, the Gonzalez family could truly use your support. Please support this family if you are able and please, please pray for them.
