                                                                                           Westlake Village, CA
Francine Shirley Crellin passed away peacefully and beautifully on the morning of August 26, 2025. Born in the Bronx, New York on August 2, 1930, Francine lived her early years with her parents, David and Anna, and her brother Leonard. Her boys Steve and Barry came along in 1948 and 1949. As a young adult, Francine moved west, first to Arizona, where she met her husband, Gene, then to Southern California, settling in Woodland Hills, and later on, Agoura Hills and then Westlake Village.
Her son Mike was born in 1954, followed by daughter Laura in 1961. The family lived for many years in the San Fernando Valley, where Fran and Gene raised their kids. Vacations to their cabin, packed with boating and skiing were enjoyed by all, especially Fran, as she spent many hours in the waters of Lake Nacimiento, with her kids. Family meant everything to Franny, and she passed her love for Sunday dinners on to her four children, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandkids, traditions that continue on.
In her later years, Fran travelled to the Holy Land, Europe, and to some of the beautiful places in her own country, being very proud to be an American. She was an avid book reader, and was well versed in many subjects. She was a certified bookkeeper honest and reliable in her working life. She held many important positions in the companies and businesses in which she was employed
As a Senior Practitioner for The Church of Religious Science in Westlake Village, she counseled anyone who needed her help. She was sought out for advice often, because of her practical and loving approach to resolving issues. Francine was also manager of the bustling gift shop/book store, there at the Church.
Fran Crellin is survived by her son, Steve Cooper; and her daughter, Laura Buron; daughters in law, Debbie Cooper and Karee Miller; son in law, Chris; her grand daughters, Melissa and husband, Eric, Jenny and husband, Matt; grandson, Chris and his wife, Bethany; granddaughter, Jenna; grandson, Eric and his wife, MariaJose'; and her grandson and counterpart, Tyler. She is great grandma to Cade, Nolan, Grant, Cooper, Reagan, Delaney, Carter, Braxton, Baylor and Kinsley. Francine is also survived by her best friend, Bonnie, a true friend during Fran's last days. All of her care-givers, in particular Angie, Giovanni and Avida remained close to her, caring for her with compassion until her passing. Fran lived in, and left this world, under her own terms, content always, in the knowledge that she would one day be greeted by her hus band Gene, along with her sons Barry and Mike, all who left here before her. She knew she would also be reunited with her parents and brother, and all who came before her, all to await the rest of us. Her son Steve was with her when the time came for his mom to move on, providing comfort with his quiet dignity and strength. He was a rock, when one was needed. Also present was Laura, Fran's devoted, loving daughter her advocate, the two of them speaking or visiting with each other, virtually every day of their lives, particularly throughout Fran's last years. Laura held Fran's hand securely until it could be taken by her dad, and brothers. Also there to welcome Fran were her mom, dad and brother. She will be remembered for her unwavering belief that, "one should always speak their mind" and, "tell it like it is ". She was honest and forthright, loving and loved, by all who were lucky enough to know her. She was genuine. Beau-tiful. The real deal. Every once in a great, great while, there is an energy so significant, that is born into this world, that it's mere presence alone, changes our world for the better. A full force gale. This force was, is, and will remain....Francine Shirley Crellin. She has left, but she is not gone. She is patiently waiting for, and watching over us all...Forever.
