Garry L Wright

July 20, 1939 — October 12, 2016

Gary Passed away peacefully at home following a lengthy struggle with Pankinson's Disease.


Born and raised in Manitou Springs, Colorado, he enlisted in the Air Force at 17 and served in Germany working in communications.In the early 70s, he moved to California and pursued a career in the trucking business for over 40 years.


He was a life-long car enthusiast and owned many classic cars and trucks throughout the years. He was a lifetime member of the Roam'n Relics and attended many car shows with other members. Gary was also a member of the Simi Valley Elks and Moose Lodges, serving various positions including governor. He also enjoyed NASCAR, sports and opera music.


Gary is survived by his loving companion and best friend, Barbara Rios and her family; his son Gary Lynn Jr, his wife Susanne and Gary's two grandchildren; former spouse Nancy Wright, and 4 step children Mark, Michael, Kim and Reneé and their families; and his 4 siblings Jim, Loretta, Denny and Deanna and their families.


The family would like to thank Kaiser Hospital and their Palliative and Hospice departments, especially Todd and Marci. A big thank you Chris and Helen who assisted and cared for Gary in his final days. He was a kind and gentle man who will be missed.


All are invited to Gary's Memorial Service on Friday, November 4th at 11:00 am at the Rose Family Chapel, 4444 Cochran Street, Simi Valley, CA 93063.
