Geoff Estrella Obituary
Geoffrey Thomas Estrella, Age 55 was born on Nov 3, 1969 in Daytona Beach Florida. He was sent to his eternal home on October 22, 2025 in Simi Valley, California and was surrounded by family, friends and loved ones by his side. Geoff was the baby of the family. He grew up with two amazing parents, George and Marilyn Estrella and three other siblings. His oldest brother George Estrella, sister Pam Cohen, and brother Gary Estrella. He always cherished his time with his family and looked up to his dad who recently passed on March 31st of this year.
Geoff was known for his love of sports, especially baseball, basketball and football. He loved the nights playing softball with the guys. It was his night out with his adopted family. He was a beautiful soul who adored his family and friends. Geoff filled our lives with such joy, comfort and strength. He valued hard work and his presence of that showed through all areas of his life. His kindness was infectious and he always put others needs before his own. His heart lit up when others would succeed.
At a young age, Geoff was involved in Boy Scouts and earned several badges of honor for the kind gestures and determination for success. He also played piano as a young boy and was a very well prepared student according to his mom. However, one of Geoffs passions was his love of baseball, soccer and basketball. He definately loved them all and it was difficult to choose just one. He later became the biggest Dodger fan around and would have been jumping for joy at the text World Series win this year.
Geoff graduated in 1987 from Simi Valley High School with highest honors and had played basketball his entire high school career, and later graduated college from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors in Business Administration. He was involved with his home Church in Chatsworth @ Rocky Peak and volunteered at many service events as well, serving God and others loved his Church family.
Some of Geoffs early careers included Albertson’s for almost 15 years. There he met the love of his life, Nicole Estrella. Geoff and Nicole worked together there and shared many of the same interests such as their love for the beach, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Geoff dated Nicole for 4 years before they married on June 19, 1993.
When Geoff met Nicole, he already had a daughter Margaret Ann Estrella who is now 36. He was such a proud dad and was overjoyed with excitement when she was born. He loved when he had the chance to spend time with her and felt blessed to be her dad. In 2002 Geoff and Nicole were blessed with their son, Jared Estrella, who is 23 yrs. old. Jared was a premie and had a difficult start to life, however Geoff knew that Jared would be the amazing young man he is today and was grateful to see him grow. He couldn’t be prouder and loved every moment he spent with him. Geoff coached Jared when he was a little older in soccer and basketball. It was something he really enjoyed and later coached other friends kids as well. He was a supportive dad of Maggie and Jared and would make a call to them just to spend 10minutes with them. Years later he was blessed with a beautiful grandson, Gunner Estrella, now 10 years old.
Geoff’s journey on this earth was one of compassion and faith in God, his Church and his family. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends and co-workers who knew him. We ask to remember him as “Uncle Fluffy,” “Kobe and Shaq”, my dad, my friend, my son and my brother. His profound impact he had on those he knew was something special.
Geoff is survived by his loving wife, Nicole Estrella of 32 yrs., his daughter Margaret Ann Estrella (36), his son Jared Estrella (23), grandson Gunner Estrella (10), his mother Marilyn Estrella, oldest brother George Estrella (married to Sherry Rutter), sister Pam Cohen (married to Jeff Cohen), brother Gary Estrella (married to Brenda Estrella), several nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by his Father George Estrella.
Those who knew Geoff will remember him for his faith in God, his funny sense of humor, his silly smile or laugh, his inside jokes that lit up the room, and the way he made every situation into a positive one. He always had such great advice and loved the people in his life. We all feel this void that is difficult to comprehend, however God already planned this beautiful place in heaven just for him near his dad. Geoff’s memory will not only live in our hearts, but in the laughter he shared, the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely. His legacy is one of kindness, loyalty and unwavering devotion to family and community. Though we grieve his absence, we celebrate a life of joy and a soul at peace. May your light be forever and shine brightly in our hearts. May Geoff’s spirit continue to inspire and uplift us. We will miss your beautiful heart and amazing presence in every life you touched. We loved you and will miss him dearly.
