Gerald Leo Heier

Gerald (Jerry) Leo Heier, 88, of Simi Valley, CA, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Chatsworth, CA.

Jerry was born in Hurley, Wisconsin to John and Irene (Laspa) Heier on February 17, 1931. He attended Hurley High School and graduated in 1948.

He went on to become a professional engineer and worked as a senior manufacturing engineer for TRW Systems for 32 years. He was recognized for his innovative machining techniques with specialty metals and lasers in the aerospace industry. He enjoyed camping, fishing, reading and tinkering with his cars and boats.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rosemary (Casanova) Heier, of Simi Valley; daughters Kim (Paul) Richardson, Keri (George) Lorenson; sons John Heier and Joe (Lisa) Heier; grandchildren Clare Richardson, Thomas Lorenson, James, Jonathan and Katherine Heier, and Jacob and Sara Heier; brother Theodore (Iva) Heier, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Irene Heier, and brother Melvin Heier.

A memorial service will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home at 4444 Cochran Street, Simi Valley, CA 93063 on Sunday, May 5, 2019, from 11am to 3pm, including a reception hosted by the family.
