Henry Patrick Butterfield

August 2, 1944 — May 10, 2016

Henry "Hank" Patrick Butterfield, Sr. (71), passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in Santa Monica, CA covered in prayer and surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 2, 1944 in Phoenixville, PA and spent his adult life residing in Southern California. He is survived by his 8 children; Doug, Patrick, Dana, Bridget, Christine, Henry "Patrick" Jr.; their respective spouses, and Johnny & Eugene, his current wife he shared life with for 15 years Yana, his former wife of 30 years Linda, 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, extended family he embraced as his own and countless friends.

Hank was a United States Veteran and proudly served in the Army in his younger years, earning the National Defense Service Medal.

He is well-known for his 48 years in the mobile home business and all his success in that industry. Hank helped many of his friends with employment, homes and inspiring them to become entrepreneurs themselves, leading the way by his example.

More importantly is the human being we all remember and love, our beloved Hank; a man with an uncanny zest for life. He truly could have coined the phrase, "Go big or go home" as he certainly lived it. Hank had grand ambitions and fulfilled many of those throughout his life, sharing every triumph and victory along the way. He had many extraordinary adventures of travel throughout the world. Hank was charismatic and always the first one on the dance floor and the life of the party. He had a truly generous spirit and a huge heart; always graciously giving in every circumstance. He was a true gentleman. As he worked hard to live an amazing life, he shared his joys and victories with everyone. He made the most of each moment and the people he shared time with. He was so good at expressing his love and making us feel special. Hank made us laugh and he described every encounter as, "The greatest time I've ever had" and "The greatest people in the whole world" and he meant it. He knew how to enjoy life.

Hank fully embraced the notion that life is meant to be celebrated so as we remember him and the legacy he leaves us with, we can honor his memory by making sure we make the most of every moment and embrace each opportunity with a smile and a sense of adventure and enjoyment, just as he would. Hank was our loving Patriarch, a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend. He is a beautiful soul we were blessed to know and he will be greatly missed by us all.
