Irene Escalona

Irene Norma Escalona, 82 of Northridge California, released the many hands of her loved ones and took the hand of our Lord, as he guided her home, on Thursday November 28, 2019. Irene, lovingly known as Mom, Nana, Nina, or Auntie spent her life building an open door, open kitchen, open hearted, loving home alongside her husband of 55 years, Carl B. Escalona, who preceded her in death in 2012. Irene was happiest when she was in the kitchen cooking for a house full of friends and family, experimenting with food to feed us just to watch our eyes pop! A bright light and a blessing was what our Nana was and will continue to be for the rest of our days, she will just continue to guide us with her light and send us blessings from heaven. The precious day she left this world, was in her home…embraced by the warmth and love of her family. The warmth and love that she had so generously and selflessly provided us all with every day. Thank you Mom, Nana, Nina, Auntie, you have given us so much . A memorial service to honor Irene will be held at The Rose Family Funeral Home Saturday January 11, 2020 beginning at 11:00 AM. All that knew Irene are invited to The Escalona Home following the service to share in good food, good company, and good memories…a staple of The Escalona Home.
