Jeff was born on August 10, 1954 in Austin Texas to Shirley and Donald Mason. When Jeff was 5, the family moved from Texas to Campbell, California where he grew up and graduated from Campbell High School in 1972.
Sports was a major passion throughout his lifetime. His first love was baseball, starting with little league baseball that led to a scholarship to San Francisco State. He played on an All-Stars team in 1970 that made it to the National City playoffs. He was captain of his high school soccer team. One of his favorite lifetime memories was a road trip he took with his high school buddies to visit baseball stadiums across the USA.
Jeff continued participating in sports by taking up tennis and then golf. In the early 90’s he joined the Sunset Hills Country Club starting with a tennis membership. Later moving on to a golf membership and even created a putting green in his backyard.
From a young age Jeffrey set his sights on marrying a smart attractive Texan and in 1978 he found the love of his life June Janes whom he married in 1980, and recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Jeff was a diehard Texas Longhorn fan and proclaimed it loudly with everything from his hats to his golf cart. Throughout his career Jeffrey worked in production planning roles for high tech manufacturing companies.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife June, their son William Janes, their Grandson Justin Janes. He is also survived by 4 of his siblings: Laurie Mason (Nikona Mulkovich), Timothy Mason (Zenaida), Linda Mason and Carol Mason and his sister-in-law Lynda Presley. Nieces/Nephews: Nicole & Ryan Robinson, Katelin & Jean Richardson, Jana & Mark Walker, Terry Wayne Presley, Jason & Lacey Strobel, Jessica Laughman, Allison Mason, Amanda Mason and many Great-Nieces/Nephews.
Jeff loved spending time with his family and friends barbequing, playing cards, golfing, sharing stories from his childhood up to his latest golf game, celebrating birthdays, weddings, holidays and so much more. Every night he would sit on his patio with a drink in hand and watch the sunset while admiring his view and talk to his loved ones. Though Jeff left this world too soon we carry him with us and continue to share his love for life, family and the longhorns!
