Genevieve “Jennie” Cecelia Sprock, a loving mother and a long resident of Simi Valley, California, died unexpectedly on July 9, 2016 at the age of 84.
Jennie was born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania on June 3, 1932 to the late John and Agnes Kohar. She attended Saint Titus Catholic School and graduated from Aliquippa High School in western Pennsylvania. On August 31, 1958 she married George Sprock. On October 2, 1961 and January 29th, 1963 respectively, they welcomed two wonderful sons, whom they raised so well. She was a devoted parishioner of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Simi Valley.
She worked as an Administrative Assistant for several companies finishing her career with the Unysis Corporation in Camarillo.
Jennie was a very loving and caring mother and the best grandmother one can ever have. She loved holidays and would always indulge in shopping for her grandchildren. She loved any chance to spend time with her grandchildren. Jennie was a great cook and would spend hours cooking and preparing for her family. She loved cats and adopted a few. She never missed reading the newspaper every morning. Jennie was a tough and a very independent, yet a very sweet woman. She never forgot her western Pennsylvania roots. She will be greatly missed.
Jennie is survived by her two sons; David Sprock and wife Jenny; Daniel Sprock and wife Carol, her grandchildren (from David); Trisha, Celine, Sebastian; (From Daniel) Tatiana, Danique and Lucia; her two sisters, Irene (Kohar) Debiec of Independence TWP, Pennsylvania and Ann (Kohar) Stacho of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. A brother, Ed and his wife Marie Kohar of Hopewell TWP, Pennsylvania. She also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces in California and Pennsylvania. She is predeceased by her husband, George Sprock; three brothers Francis “Frank” Kohar, Joseph Kohar, and John Kohar; two brother in laws Joseph Debiec, and Frank Stacho.
A viewing will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 at Rose Family Mortuary 4444 Cochran St Simi Valley California 93063. The mass will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church 1305 Royal Ave Simi Valley California 93065 immediately followed by the interment at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Rd, Simi Valley, CA 93065.
