John David Norman MacDonald Jr

John David Norman MacDonald Jr. , 63, of Simi Valley, California, passed away on February 10, 2026. He was born on June 1, 1962, in Onset, Massachusetts, to John David MacDonald and Jill Griffen. He moved to California when he was in elementary school, and spent the majority of his life in Simi Valley and attending Simi Valley High School where he enjoyed playing football.

John was the devoted husband of Dorothy MacDonald. He was a proud father to his son, Cain Amemiya, wife Tammy Amemiya, grandchildren Jesse, age 11, Elijah, age 8. He is predeceased by his father John David MacDonald, Jill Griffen and sister Stephanie.

John spent his entire adult life in the Consumer Electronics business, working for retailers, dealers, and Manufacturer’s Rep firms. His most recent role as President, Morris Tait Associates. He loved his work and was well loved within the industry.

John enjoyed traveling to Hawaii to visit family, attending knife conventions, collecting flashlights, and tinkering in his home workshop. John supported his community in many ways. He always carried nutritional MRE’s to hand out to those in need.

Above all, John was a man devoted to God, family, and work. His faith guided him, his love sustained those closest to him, and his unwavering sense of responsibility left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He will be remembered for his strength, quiet humor, loyalty, and the deep love he held for those around him.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5th at Rose Funeral Home in Simi Valley; 10:00 AM Viewing, 12:00 Noon Service. Interment to follow at El Rancho Simi Pioneer Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Food Share Ventura County in memory of John.
