John Wibbels

September 14, 1943 — July 12, 2019

John Paul Wibbels, loving husband to Anne, father of four, grandfather of nine passed away on July 12, 2019 in Glendale, CA at the age of 75. Funeral service will be held at St Bernadine’s Catholic Church on July 18th at 11am. Burial services will follow for family only at Oakwood Memorial Cemetary, in Chatsworth, CA. John Paul Wibbels was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Paul and Ruth Wibbels on September 14, 1943. He was the oldest of seven children. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School in Ohio and he went on to later earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Redlands. He worked as a Communications Technician for AT&T for 43 years until his retirement. John enjoyed reading, watching the Cincinnati Reds, gardening, train watching with his grandkids, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and pool time with the grandkids who recently dubbed his pool “Lake Wibbels”. He enjoyed traveling with his friends from high school and he enjoyed going to his grandkids many sporting events and performances and cooking the family birthday dinners. Most of all, he enjoyed doing all of these things with his wife, Anne, whom he was married to for 54 years and loved dearly. John is survived by his wife, Anne, his children – Tracy, her husband John, Wendy, her husband Bryan, Eric, Jody, his brothers Dick and his wife Kim, Steve and his wife Terry, his sisters Eileen and her husband Ken, Gayle and her husband Jim, Paulette and her husband Ron and all their children - his many nieces and nephews. And of course his grandchildren - Chelsea, Charlie, Johnathan, Jake, Kaden, Anna, Luke, Reagan and Kaitlyn. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ruth and his brother Bob Wibbels.
