Jose Lovato

Jose “Joe” Eliseo Lovato was born on October 14, 1936 in Jansen, Colorado to Patricio and Albinita Lovato. He was one of four children and the only son. He graduated from Trinidad High School at the age of sixteen and entered the United States Air Force in December 1953. Jose was Honorably Discharged after four years of service then moved to California. He was employed by the Rand Corporation in Santa Monica and worked as a security guard. It was there where Jose met Donna, they married and had four children. Jose left Rand Corporation for a job at Varig Brazilian Airlines and worked in cargo sales. Jose was employed by Varig for thirty-three years while he raised his family in the San Fernando Valley. Jose loved baseball, golf, and college basketball, especially March Madness. Jose loved coaching Little League baseball and taught Jay and Jeffrey the ins and outs of the game. Jose Eliseo Lovato passed away in North Hills, CA on September 1, 2019, and is survived by his four children, Mary, Jay, Dana, and Jeffrey, along with five grandchildren, and one great grandchild due in October. Jose is also survived by his three sisters, Lillian, Ida, and Adeline. Funeral services will be held on September 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Memorial Park located in Chatsworth, CA with internment immediately following.
