Jozsef Tobias was born in Zilah, Transylvania to Maria Ando and Jozsef Tobias on Sept 30. He had a difficult childhood having to endure World War 2. He lost his father and his older brother Otto in that war. His mom brought him and his sister to the United States after the war. He went on to serve in Korea with the US Army.
While he was a hard man, we learned valuable lessons from him. One was to never quit, another was personal responsibility. He coached us in baseball and soccer.
He loved being outdoors, camping, fishing scuba diving; he always wanted to be “ Gone Fishing." He loved tinkering with cars, photography, and bowling. He was a through and through Angels Baseball fan since their inception. He enjoyed gardening and was an amazing cook.
He struggled with ALS and cancers, far exceeding doctors’ expectations; he was a fighter.
