Kenneth Clore

Kenneth "Ken" Joseph Clore Sr, 87, of Simi Valley, Ca, passed away, Sunday, January 20, 2013 at his home. A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm-5:00 pm, Sunday, January 27 at Rose Family Funeral Home, 4444 Cochran St, Simi Valley, Ca, 93063. A prayer service will be held on Monday, January 28 at 10:00 am, also at Rose Family Funeral Home followed by a procession to his final resting place for graveside services at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Simi Valley, Ca, Ken was born October 2,1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Joseph and Gertrude Clore. In 1943, at the age of 18, while in his senior year of high school, he was drafted into The United States Army. He served his country proudly in the Pacific Theater of WWII as a Tech Sergeant in the infantry. In 1949 he was honorably discharged from the army, at that time he and his wife Clara Louise began building the family that was so important to him and made him so proud. They finally settled in Simi Valley in 1974 and worked together as real estate agents for over 10 years until they both retired. Ken loved the holidays and decorating the whole house (inside and out) for Christmas, which gave him the opportunity every year to show off his cherished, antique, toy train collection. Ken is survived by his wife of 66 years, Clara Louise, his son Ken Clore Jr and his wife Arlene, his daughter Kathy Mooney and her husband Mark, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
