Listen to Obituary

Marguerite Lucille (Pecci) Kelley of Thousand Oaks, formerly of Walnut Creek, CA passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 while out walking with her favorite nurse. She was 88 years old. Marguerite had an adventurous and fulfilling life with a passion for exercise, music, and outdoors. She took joy in a beautiful, sunny day, as well as a powder day in Alta, Utah.

Marguerite was born in Everett, Massachusetts to Fred and Rose Pecci on October 26, 1936, the daughter of a first-generation Italian. She grew up in Boston with two sisters and one brother along with a boisterous extended Italian family. She graduated from Boston University with a nursing degree and worked as a nurse for most of her life.

She loved nature, walking, being outdoors, animals, travel, and adventure. Her energy was almost limitless. As a single mother she decided to buy a camper and drive around California to have fun and explore new places with her three young children. Her adventures led her to Yosemite, Tahoe, Disneyland, Magic Mountain, and Malibu. As she got older biking was her main activity where she would bike 65 miles on the weekend with her friends. In her 80s, she walked as often as possible.

Marguerite is survived by her children Mark A. Kelley (Mary Beth), Kristine A. Finfer (Matthew) and Caroline Burns. Also, her grandchildren Brian Kelley, Charlie Kelley, Cassidy Finfer, Kyle Burns, Hana Burns, and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister Dorene Nocera of Bristol, Connecticut. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Pecci, brother Dr. Ernest Pecci, MD and son-in-law Karl Burns.

The family is thankful for the loving support and exceptional care she received the last year of her life from her residence, Silverado Memory Care, Thousand Oaks. She was loved dearly, will be missed and may she rest in peace.
