Marisia Lim

March 31, 1957 — October 20, 2021

Marisia Lim was a caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world suddenly at 6:46 PM on October 20, 2021 at the age of 64. Marisia was born in Dover, Delaware at the Dover Air Force Base to Michael and Nancy Buchkoski on March 31, 1957. Marisia was the youngest of three girls with older sisters Charleen and Michele. After graduating high school, Marisia moved to Los Angeles where she entered the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. A few years later, she met her husband Francis while they were both working at the Broadway in downtown LA. The family was blessed with one son named Thomas. In addition to her husband and child, Marisia is survived by her two sisters Charleen and Michele. Marisia cared deeply for her friends, family and community. She loved getting to know new people and learning about their lives. Whenever she would talk about a person, she would always mention their hobbies, where they worked and other interesting facts about them. Marisia wanted people to know they were heard and cherished. Marisia also loved making delicious meals for her family. She would always be searching in one of her many cookbooks for a new recipe to try, and would cook it to perfection. Her presence at any gathering was a delight as she was always so cheerful and kind. Marisia had recently retired from her job at Macy’s where she worked for 43 years. Since retiring, her time was often spent doing many activities with family, friends and helping out at the church. Marisia lived a life of integrity in servitude of God and others and she gave of herself until the very end. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on October 29, 2021 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Moorpark, CA. Burial will be at the Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley, CA afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you make donations to her favorite charities: EWTN, Winning our World ministries, and Catholic Charities of Moorpark.
