Listen to Obituary

Maria was born on January 16, 1938, in the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine, into a simple Ukrainian family. At the age of three, she lost her hearing. Her childhood was shaped by the hardships of World War II and the difficult years of post-war famine in Ukraine. Despite these challenges, Maria grew into a remarkably warm, kind, and beautiful person whose radiant smile brought comfort and joy to everyone around her.

For many years, Maria worked as a seamstress in a fashion studio, a profession she truly loved. She poured her heart into everything she created and found happiness in bringing beauty into others' lives. Her talent, dedication, and gentle spirit touched many people throughout her life.

Above all else, Maria cherished her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother of two children, and a deeply caring grandmother who adored her grandchildren endlessly. Her family was always at the center of her world. She gave her love freely, offering constant support, encouragement, and care through every joy and hardship.

Maria loved traveling and spending time with her family. Even on mountain hikes, when others encouraged her to rest, she insisted on walking beside them — strong, cheerful, and full of life. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved watching America’s Funniest Home Videos, laughing so sincerely that her laughter would fill the room and bring smiles to everyone around her.

During the last six years of her life, Maria courageously battled Alzheimer’s disease. Though the illness slowly took away many of her memories and strength, it never diminished the warmth of her spirit. She continued to greet people with a smile, and her kind eyes still sparkled with love and joy, especially when surrounded by her grandchildren and her beloved son-in-law.

Maria will forever be remembered for her warm, childlike smile, her shining eyes, her generous heart, and the endless love she gave to those around her. Her kindness, strength, and gentle soul will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at the age of 88.

Maria is survived by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and many loved ones whose lives she touched deeply.

Rest peacefully, dear Mom and Grandma. You will forever live in our hearts.
