Mary Frey

Frey, Mary H April 16, 1928 - September 13, 2011 Mary Frey, 83, of Porter Ranch, CA passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 with a long history of Alzheimer's and suffered a stroke. Mary was born in Santa Monica,CA where she attended Santa Monica high school and city college. Mary is predeceased by her mother and father Olga and Joseph E. Lawrence, her sister Estelle Spaugh and son Chris Kirkelie. She married Donald Kirkelie until his passing in 1963 and was married to Mel Frey for 31 years until his passing in June 2011. Mary is survived by her 4 children, Robert kirkelie of Stevenson Ranch, Mark Kirkelie of TN, Scott kirkelie of Arlington TX, and Michelle (Richard) Basmajian of northridge CA. Mary has 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Growing up Mary spent 3 months out of the year on Catalina Island. She was in Jobs Daughters and was elected Queen. She volunteered at the voting polls for over 20years. Mary had a warm and generous spirit and lived her life with dignity and grace. Mary spent the last few years of her life in a private board and care "Porter Ranch Gardens" where she was well cared for. We will miss her and she will forever be in our hearts. A private memorial service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 Assisting the family with arrangements is the family owned and operated Rose Family Funeral Home and Cremation of Simi Valley.
