Mary Ruth Stoll, a woman of remarkable strength, adventurous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family, passed away on May 5, 2026 at the age of 90.
Mary was known by all who knew her as a woman who led with her heart. Alongside her husband, Bill, she built a life centered on family, hospitality, and travel. Whether she was hosting a weekend backyard BBQ or welcoming a guest into her home, Mary had the gift for making everyone feel welcome.
Mary’s zest for life was one of her most defining traits. She was a woman of action who never turned down an invitation for an adventure. From train rides and road trips with her friends and family to hours-long card games and fun at the penny slots, she possessed a youthful energy that lasted well into her later years. A dedicated fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, she could often be found at the stadium or cheering from her living room. Bringing the same competitive spirit to the ballpark as she did to her legendary weekend card games.
Her legacy is one of resilience and love. She faced life’s challenges with grace and grit, leaving behind a family and a community of friends who are better for having known her.
Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill. She is survived by her children, Tyna (Jay), Bill (Elaina), her grandchildren, Brian (Raquel), Candi (Bret), Rick, Taylor (Brian), Scott (Sam), Keomi and great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Nathan, Ben, Walker, Brooks and a wide circle of friends and extended family.
A memorial service will be held on May 18, 2026 at Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery: 22601 Lassen St, Chatsworth CA 91311. Viewing from 10am-11am followed by a graveside service at 12pm. Lunch to follow, location TBA.
In honor of Mary’s vibrant life, the family encourages guests to share a favorite memory or enjoy a game of cards with a loved one. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Jude’s Hospital or City of Hope, two organizations that Mary supported monthly.
