Mary Dorthea Walters (Waldhuetter)

July 2, 1930 — September 23, 2015

Mary Dorthea Walters passed away peacefully in her home on September 23, 2015 in Moorpark, California at the age of 85.

Mary was born on July 2, 1930 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Gilbert and Dorthea Waldhuetter. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Janesville, Wisconsin and shortly after married the love of her life Robert G Walters on September 15, 1956. After moving to California in 1957, Mary worked as an ER nurse and the couple started Simi Builders Supply in 1962. In 1963 the couple built their dream home in Moorpark. Soon after they welcomed their first and only child in 1965; daughter Louise Kay Walters. Mary’s love for antiques led her to open her own antique store in the mid 1970's, "The Olde Store" was located in Simi Valley. Mary and Robert soon retired and focused on traveling and spending time with family. The couple spent 50 years together until Robert’s passing in January 2007.

Mary is survived by her daughter: Louise Walters (Steele); and four grandchildren: Christopher Delgado 28, Robin Whitaker 23, Lola Steele 10, and Corey Steele II 4.

Mary is remembered as a loving, kind, and strong willed woman that adored her family and friends more than anything.

The family would like to thank Christine and the staff of RL Providers for all the loving dedication and care over the years.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Mary’s name to Mercy Harvard Foundation. 903 Mineral Point Ave. Janesville WI, 53548. 608-755-8821.
