Matthew A. Chezum, 74, of Southern California, passed away on February 2, 2019 in Woodland Hills, California. Alzheimer’s Dementia is listed as the cause of death.
Funeral and burial services will be held at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley, on February 28, 2019 at 1:00pm. Rose Family Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
Matthew was born in Los Angeles, California to Harry D. and Lorraine V. Chezum, on January 2, 1945. He graduated from San Fernando High School and soon began repairing motorcycles. Matthew was employed as a motorcycle mechanic at numerous Honda Motorcycle stores in Nevada and California learning his trade. His reputation for excellent work made him a sought after mechanic and propelled him to become a Service Manager.
In 1978 Matthew was hired at American Honda as a motorcycle technician, in the shop. From that start, he became a motorcycle technical instructor, instructional designer, as well as Assistant Manager of Consumer Affairs and several other positions in the Service Division. Matthew retired in 2009 to ride motorcycles and take pictures.
Over the years Matthew’s passion for Honda, motorcycles, photography and sailing were integral to his life. Excelling at each of these passions was a lifelong goal.
Matthew is survived by his two daughters, Denise and Kimberly, grandson David, his sister Norma, and two brothers, Arthur and Theodore.
Memorial donations may be made to, the Alzheimer’s Association, a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization.
