Miriam Giselle Margolis

Miriam Giselle Margolis, 43, of Los Angeles, California, passed away on January 5, 2017, after a fourteen month battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Mt. Sinai Cemetery (6150 Mt Sinai Dr, Simi Valley, CA 93063), on January 11, 2017, at 12:30 p.m.

Miriam was born in Mexico City to Moises and Dora Margolis on June 29, 1973. She grew up in El Paso, Texas, and graduated in 1991 from Coronado High School. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism from New Mexico State University in 1995. She worked in the field of human resources for almost 20 years. She was known for being hard-working, generous, kind, and selfless, always putting others’ well-being over her own, even during the most difficult days of her illness.

Miriam is survived by her partner, Jean Knowles; her parents, Moises and Dora Margolis; her sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Charles Blanc; her brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Kathy Margolis; her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Denise Margolis; and her nieces and nephew, Jessica Margolis, Rebecca Margolis, Sammy Blanc and Jenna Blanc.
