Nina Obuch, age 90, of Simi Valley, California, passed away on March 5, 2026, 3 days after her 90th Birthday, peacefully in her sleep, at home. Nina and her husband Bohdan, made Simi Valley their home for 51 years.

Funeral services will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home on Saturday March 28, 2026 at 10 am, with Father Ihor Koshyk of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hollywood, California, officiating. Burial will follow at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Rd. in Simi Valley.

Nina was born in Kyiv (Kiev), Ukraine to Roman and Varvara Faszczuk. As a small child, her family was forced to emigrate to Germany. They lived in various refugee camps during World War II, including Augsburg, Mittenwald and Oberammergau, eventually coming to the US and settling in Chicago, Illinois in 1950.

Nina's "occupation" for most of her adult life was as a Wife and Mother. After losing her own Mother at the tender age of 5 during the war, she became a very devoted and very loving Wife, Mom, Aunt and Babtcia (Grandmom) until the very day she went to be with God.

Nina is survived by her daughter, Dr. Christine Obuch DC, her son, Dr. Adrian Obuch MD and her only grandchild, Christopher Obuch. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Frieda Glushenko, George Lisenko, Olga DiLenge, Victor Faszczuk Jr., and Dr. Martha Kachmaryk MD with their respective families.

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Bohdan B. Obuch, 3 siblings including Victor Faszczuk Sr. and several relatives in Ukraine.
