Patricia Ann Heckenkamp

Patricia Ann Heckenkamp passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2022 at the age of 88. Daughters, Kathy Reed and Cindi Cooper, were at her bedside.

Pat was born on Jan. 2, 1934 in Chicago, IL to the late Mildred and Earle Wiegmann. The family which included siblings, Don and Donna (Yates), moved to Quincy, IL. Pat attended St. Boniface Catholic School & Notre Dame High School. In 1952 Pat married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Heckenkamp. Tom & Pat moved their family to CA in 1962. During their 60 year marriage, they traveled to many foreign countries and lived in numerous US cities.

Their last residence was in Simi Valley, CA. Tom passed away in 2013. As a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Pat enjoyed making dinners and writing poems for the priests. She was also a member of the Sierra Club.

Pat was a loving, kind-hearted, generous woman devoted to her family. She loved giving and receiving hugs. Pat was fun-loving and funny. Her puns and practical jokes were either received with laughter or met with moans and groans. She enjoyed playing cards, board games, and video bowling with her family and Bunco with her friends. Pat cooked delicious comfort foods. Her dinner leftovers were shared with grateful family and friends.

Pat is survived and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, four grandchildren (Tim and Patrick Reed, Kelly and Trevor Cooper), six great-grandchildren (Parker, Mason, Liam, and Marla Reed; TJ and Ariel Reed), daughters-in-law (Julia and Mari Reed), former sons-in-laws (Cliff Reed and Marc Cooper), brother-in-law (Jim Heckenkamp) sister-in-law (June Wiegmann), numerous nephews and nieces, cousins, and dear friends.

There will be a funeral mass Sept. 6, 2022 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Simi Valley.
