Richard Luman

November 16, 1946 — January 30, 2014

Richard (Dick) Lee Luman, 67, of Simi Valley, passed away on January 30, 2014 after a three year battle with cancer. He was born to the late Fred and Louise Luman, November 16, 1946, in Gallipolis, Ohio. Dick served in the United States Army with the 1st Calvary in the Vietnam war. He worked as a Postal Carrier for 30 years with the United States Post Office and he volunteered as a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs of America. Dick enjoyed playing tennis, racing, and anything to do with cars. Dick and Cheryl loved spending time with their kids, grandkids, playing music, and taking frequent trips to Cambria. They enjoyed watching their grandkids play their sports as well.


Richard is survived by his wife Cheryl Abrams Luman, His children: Todd Luman (Kelly); Kevin Luman (Vicki); JoAnn Papadopoulos (Steve); and Scott Abrams (Sarah) and his 9 grandchildren: Makaela Luman; Peyton and Addison Luman; Kristyn, Katelyn and Stephen Papadopoulos; Tyler, Amanda, and Isabella Abrams. Richard is also survived by two sisters: Karen Bowles (Duane) and Diane Milligan (Jim) and many nieces, nephews and cousins which he loved very much.



In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Guide Dogs of America or the American Cancer Society.
