Richard Sebastian Thorsen

Richard Sebastian Thorsen, 56, of Thousand Oaks, California, passed away on July 23, 2014 at home with his family by his side. Richard was born in Brooklyn, New York to John and Frances Thorsen on July 10, 1958. He went to Thousand Oaks High School and graduated in 1976. He became an entrepreneur at a young age. His most successful business was Classic Limousine Service which he owned and operated from 1982-2004. After retiring he enjoyed trading in the stock market and always enjoyed advising family and friends on trading tips. He was a very kind and generous person and always had a smile and positive outlook on life. Some of his hobbies included traveling with his family and friends, camping, poker nights, billiards, bocce ball and had a great love for music. Family meant everything to Richard and he enjoyed family and friends gatherings at his home. The love he shared with his wife of 27 years, Lisa Thorsen and sons Kyle and Richard Thorsen gave them joy each and every day. Richard is survived by his Wife, Lisa Thorsen, Son Kyle Thomas Thorsen, wife Michelle, grandson Adrien and son Richard Thorsen II, Mother Frances Thorsen, Richard is preceded in death by his Father John Thorsen. he is survived by his Brother John Thorsen, Wife Jan, Brother Roy Thorsen, wife Jennifer, Sister Doris Granholm, husband Dean, Sister, Joanne Bodenhamer, Uncle Roy Thorsen, cousin Mara Thorsen and several nieces and nephews along with several family members in New York and New Jersey. Visitation will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home, 4444 Cochran St., Simi Valley, CA on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 5:00-9:00 pm with a Vigil service at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Paschal Baylon Church on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10:30am Burial will follow at Valley Oaks Memorial Park, Westlake Village, CA. Afterwards, the family will continue with a Celebration of Life at their residence.
