Rosemarie White- (Rosie De La Cerda) born on November 2, 1941, in San Fernando, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on January 18, 2026, in Simi Valley, California. She was 84 years old.
Rosie was a lifelong Californian whose roots ran deep in the San Fernando Valley. Born to Salvador and Angelina De La Cerda, she grew up surrounded by family and community. Her early years were shaped by the love and guidance of her parents and siblings, including her brother Salvador De La Cerda and sister Delia Zamora.
Throughout her life, Rosie remained devoted to her family. She shared a long and loving 64 years of marriage with her husband David White. They met at Sun Valley Junior High School and began dating in their Senior year at Poly Tech High School. Together they raised three daughters—Tami White, Traci White, and Trish White—who were the pride of her life. Her family circle extended to include her son-in-law Rena Beavers and daughter-in-law Amanda Proud and granddaughter Morgan Proud whose presence brought joy and support to our family.
Rosie’s warmth and generosity also touched the lives of many nieces and nephews. She held special bonds with Cindy Zamora Garity, Mary Ann Zamora, Marisa De La Cerda, Mike De La Cerda, Manny Zamora, Mike White, and Jim Garity, sister in law Sally De La Cerda and brother in law Bill White and his wife Michelle. As well as many grand nieces and nephews.
Though she mourned the loss of niece Lisa White, nephew Daniel De La Cerda and in-laws Janet and John , brother in law John White and Manuel Zamora, sister in law Darlene White in earlier years, their memories remained close to her heart. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Salvador and Angelina De La Cerda, as well as her brother Salvador and sister Delia and brother-in-law Manuel Zamora each of whom played an important role in shaping the woman she became.
Rosie's legacy is one of enduring love for family and steadfast devotion to those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Simi Valley on 2/20/2026 at 10am.
