Ruth Virginia Romeo

Our beautiful and loving mother, Ruth Romeo, 92, passed away with her family by her side on February 9, 2015. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Ruth was the youngest of five daughters born to Samuel Wade Emery and Margaret Fitzpatrick Emery. Ruth relocated to Ontario, California in 1956 where she made her home until moving to Thousand Oaks in 2011.

Ruth was a dedicated employee of Lockheed Martin, Inc. and retired with 38 years of service. Her life was filled with a strong faith in God which she instilled in her daughters. For many years she attended St. Anthony’s Church in Upland, California and later attended St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Thousand Oaks with her family. Ruth was an incredibly kind and caring person and loved by many. Her sweet smile and big brown eyes will be forever in our hearts.

Her legacy lives on through her family. She is survived by her children: Linda Felton, Debbie (Jim) Leon; grandchildren: Wendi (Mark) Crawbuck, Daniel Leon, and Bryan Leon; great-grandchildren: Michael Crawbuck and Cheyenne Crawbuck; great-great grandchildren: Evan Montgomery and Laila Crawbuck; nephew, Ronnie (Barbara) Cimorelli as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her four sisters and many other beloved family members.

The family would like to extend a loving thank you to the staff of care-givers at Cottages of the Oaks who loved and cared for our mom since 2011. A special acknowledgement is extended to the nursing staff of Los Robles Hospital and the team of physicians who cared for her during her final days.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015, 11:00am at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Thousand Oaks with the Reverend David Galletly officiating. Graveside service will immediately follow at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley. Rose Family Funeral Home in Simi Valley will be entrusted with funeral arrangements.
