October 4, 1965 — March 24, 2026

Listen to Obituary

Samuel “Scott” Fessler, 60, passed away in the late hours of March 24 th after succumbing to injuries sustained as a result of a bicycling accident in Santa Clarita, CA. He was surrounded by his wife Nikki and many friends during his Honor Walk, as he made his way to give life to help others with his donated gifts.

Scott was born in Chicago, IL on October 4, 1965, to parents Martin Fessler & Rosalyn Sax. He grew up in Illinois with the love and support of his grandparents Ben & Sylvia Sax and his great aunt & uncle Ruth & Manny Berg and his uncle Robbie Sax.

During the 1980’s, he made his way west to California where he continued his love of photography, ice skating and cycling. There he met his wife and eventually set up residence in Santa Clarita, CA.  He is survived by his wife Nikki Beck, father Martin Fessler, mother in-law Jo-Ann Geller.

He is also survived by many cousins including Dawn Klein of CA and childhood friends Adam West of IL and David Cohen of AZ and most recent friend and cycling partner Jim Mahoney.

Though taken quite suddenly, he lived and died doing what he loved to do. To say Scott was a special person is an understatement. He was an eternal optimist beginning each day happy and smiling. He made friends everywhere he went. His positivity and warm nature radiated from him and those lucky enough to spend time with him would certainly agree. His light will never diminish.

This Is Not Goodbye

I did not want to leave you

It was just my time to go

I know your heart is breaking

So, I need to let you know

That although you can no longer see me

I’ll be forever by your side

I promise time will numb the pain

And help dry the tears you’ve cried

You can reach me in your memories

Just think of me, I will be there

In your dreams, we can visit yesteryear

Where we didn’t have a care

Please carry on and live your life

I beg of you to try

Just know we’ll meet again one day

As this is not goodbye
