Shirley Willey

On the afternoon of January 28, 2013, Heavenly Father called home His sweet daughter Shirley Mildred Willey. Shirley was born on December 19, 1923 to goodly parents Julius and Rose Levine. She grew up in Los Angeles, California. She attended Sheridan Street School, Hollenbeck Jr. High, Los Angeles High School and Sawyers School of Business. Upon graduating from Los Angeles High School, June 27, 1941, she worked part time for May Company Store. She enlisted in the United States Navy in 1944 and honorably discharged in 1946. Shortly thereafter she met the love of her life Richard Elwood Willey. They were married on July 3, 1948 in Los Angeles, their temporary home, and soon moved wherever Dick was relocated throughout his military career. Her husband passed away February 23, 1987 in Simi Valley, Ca. Simi Valley became her home where she was loved by many close friends. Although she did not have children of her own, she was surrounded and loved by many children who gave her hugs and kisses and will always remember her as Grandma Shirley. She will always be remembered in our hearts and prayers. Everlasting Friends will never be parted by death.
