Susan M Mettert

Susan Meredith Mettert, a long time resident of Newbury Park, California, passed away after several health issues on December 28th, 2015. She was surrounded by her daughters, as well as her sister Cindy and brother-in-law Rich, as well as some of her nephews Scott, Rich and family. Her little dog Peanut was by her side as well.

She was born in Hollywood California in 1942. She was survived by her daughter Lori Lyche and son-in-law Todd and her youngest daughter, Tracey Lombardi. Her eldest daughter Kerrie Karvasek and her unborn granddaughter Susie went to be with the Lord years ago. She had two granddaughters (Lori’s girls) Bethany and Hannah Lyche. She was also survived by her older sister Diane Hensley, and younger sisters Cindy Houston and Nancy Lamb and their husbands Walt Hensley, Rich Houston and Ray Lamb. She also had five nephews and one niece.

She was a purchasing agent for Los Robles Hospital for years and then worked at her husband Don Mettert’s (deceased) communications company as office manager as well.

She was very active and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. In her early thirties, she suffered a torn ACL in her knee, which was the first of many orthopedic problems she would suffer through in her life. She was limited physically to what activities she could enjoy but she did enjoy music, animals, movies, going to Vegas to play slots, shopping, her granddaughters and family.

She was always very social and enjoyed hearing about the lives of the people around her. She was also very generous and very caring. She is greatly missed.

Memorial services are being held on February 20th, 2pm at the Rose Family Funeral Home at 4444 Cochran Street, Simi Valley, Ca 93063. A small reception will be held right after as well in their banquet room. Flowers can be sent directly to them
