Mom’s Giving Love
Family gatherings, so full of laughter
Telling silly stories, with cursing after
Mom gave everyone a dash of humor in her love
And now, I see her joking with her siblings above
I see her bright, beautiful Smile
It was contagious, joyful with a comforting style
Mom gave us an affectionate smile in her love
She gave this magical gift to us, to take care of
Our Mom lived with a Selfless Heart
A volunteer teacher and counselor, too strong to break apart
Mom gave us a tough but gentle heart in her love
Unconditional support, holding us tightly, with a tender glove
She was tough with fearless Energy, and a protector
Our mom was full of Life, Nothing could Affect her
Mom gave us a spirited strength in her love
Embracing with kindness and not afraid to raise an octave
Eternally Devoted to God, her family and friends
She loved the unlovable and served people to no ends
Rest in Peace Mom, you’re now a free, flying white dove
Thank you, Mom, for showing us a Giving Love
Teresa “Terry” Helen Pina passed away peacefully at home following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Terry was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, raised in Los Angeles and retired in Thousand Oaks, California passing away on 25th of November at the age of 79 years. God gave Terry the greatest gift in life… A Giving Love! She was deeply in Love with her husband of 60 years, Phil. Terry often teased Phil with an even deeper Love for their children: Lisa(Kevin York), Steve(Michelle), Mark(Carole), Gary(Leticia) and John; and an even deeper, deeper Love for her grandchildren: Michelle(Elvia, Mother), Austin(Hailee), Brad(Aubrey), Katie, Michael and Chloe; Terry is survived by her sister Marty and predeceased by her loving siblings: Timmy, Alex, Marita, Anna, Artie and her parents: Frank and Fidela Gallegos. Terry will also be dearly missed by her cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that used to laugh, sing, and dance with her and built so many fun memories. Terry graduated from Bishop Conaty- Our Lady of Loretta High School in Los Angeles. Terry was a housewife, sales executive, and a health and safety product business owner. She was active in her church, loved to volunteer as a Catholic school teacher, and was a surrogate mother and aid for a youth detention center with LASD. Terry was witty, loved to tell funny stories, enjoyed laughing and entertaining. Enjoyed traveling. She loved to sing but most of all, she loved to dance with Phil.
She made the broken look beautiful and the strong look invincible. She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings. —Ariana Dancu
