Thomas Ewing

March 17, 1949 — June 17, 2011

(1949-2011) Tom Ewing passed away suddenly at the conclusion of his music performance at the Channel Islands Masonic Lodge Friday evening, June 17. His final performance for his fellow Lodge and Eastern Star members was the classic piece "Thanks For The Memory." Tom was an avid musician, who taught himself to play the piano and organ. Born in Warren, Ohio, Tom moved with his family to Canoga Park in 1955. In 1967 Tom joined the army (because his mother would not let him buy a motorcycle). Trained by the Navy Seals, Tom spent a year in Viet Nam doing underwater demolition. Tom was happily married for over 27 years and is survived by his devoted wife, Kathie; his brother, Jack; three sons, Tommy, Billy and Kimmy; and nine grandchildren.
