Vance Slaughter

January 11, 1953 — April 22, 2012

Vance Slaughter, 59, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2012. He was a resident of the Los Angeles County for most of his life. He worked at Wellpoint for 15 years. He started off in claims and continued to move his way up and ended his career in the Training Operations Department. He loved his job and teaching new and old colleagues how to cope with changes in the company and how to be a better person to provide better customer service. He enjoyed traveling, taking short trips to the lake, movies at home, and of course the Raiders. He and his ex-wife, Vivi, travelled together to many places on cruises, Jamaica, Hawaii, Mazatlan, and the Caribbean. He was very loving, caring, and very protective of the women in his life. You could always count on him for his corny jokes and silly moments. He was such a wonderful man with such a caring heart who always wanted to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his 3 daughters Lisa Hogue, Justine Slaughter, and Lucy Nguyen. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren Gabrielle, Christopher, Romy, and Lily. He is survived by his mother Elisa Hibanada, his sister Veronica Slaughter, his brother Vincent Slaughter. Services will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home on April 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm with reception to follow.
