Vincent Salvatore Racalbuto, 98, of Moorpark, CA, passed away on November 30th in Laurel Heights Assisted Living in Moorpark, CA.

Visitation will be held at the Rose Family Funeral Home 4444 Cochran St. Simi Valley 93063 on December 15th at 9:15 a.m. Funeral service will be held at Saint Julie Billiart Catholic Church on December 15th at 12pm with Reverend Paul Hruby officiating. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Road, Simi Valley 93065.

Vincent was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. to Rosalie and Giovanni Racalbuto on January 8th, 1927. He went to high school at Warren Harding High School, in Bridgeport, CT and graduated in 1944.

After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Seamen First Class aboard the USS Los Angeles. His tour of duty included the South Pacific and China during WWII. Vincent received an honorable discharge from active duty in August, 1946. He continued on with Naval reserve duty for numerous years. He was hired as an apprentice at the General Electric Company. From there he joined the Sheet Metal Workers Union and worked his way up to Foreman of the John F. Motto Construction Company for his entire career of 40+ years. He ran many large commercial projects.

He enjoyed reading, bowling, hunting, travel, and being an avid fan of all sports. Vincent also enjoyed being a lifelong enthusiastic learner. He volunteered at the American Red Cross Disaster Relief for over 15 years and was a regular volunteer at Los Robles Hospital.

Vincent is survived by his son, Vincent Racalbuto Jr.and wife Terri Racalbuto of Fallbrook, CA, son Alan Racalbuto and wife Eileen Hart of Newbury Park, CA, and daughter Marie Poulmas and husband John Poulmas of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Sean, Brian and Grace Racalbuto.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Betty Racalbuto, second wife Gloria Arbuckle, father Giovanni Racalbuto, mother Rosalie Racalbuto, sisters Rose Zink and Sadie Martinez, and brother Salvatore Racalbuto.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Laurel Heights Assisted Living and Affinity Hospice for their devoted care and nurturing. Thank you for helping Vincent live out the end of his life with dignity and love.
