Violet Parmar

On August 5, 2020, Violet Parmar went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Her memory lives on in her husband, three children, and their families. Funeral services will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home in Simi Valley, on August 19, 2020 at 11 am. Burial will be held at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in New Hall at 2 pm that same day. Phillip and Flora Hatia celebrated the birth of their daughter, Violet, on July 16,1936. She was born in their home in Surat, India. She was the third born of nine children. Violet was educated in Bombay, India. She earned her Baccalaureate from Wilson College. She used her skills by teaching at a Montessori school for the blind. On March 7, 1964, she married Dr. Wilson Parmar and moved to Vansda. She purchased medicines for his medical clinics, supervised workers on their farm, and hosted missionaries, international friends, and whomever came to their doors. She loved to garden, cook, and sing. She was the President of the Women's Association in Vansda, and organized plays, bazaars, and sing-alongs. She was a mentor to her neighbors, an English teacher to the less fortunate, and a friend to all, especially to all the neighborhood kids who loved to congregate at her home to play card games with her. In 1983, Violet moved with her family from India to the United States. Even though she could not drive, she stayed connected to every one she knew, constantly calling people around the US and the globe. Many still think of her as their big sister and confidante. Violet is survived by her husband, Wilson Parmar of Simi Valley, CA; her daughter Regina Macwan of Naperville, IL; her son Reggie Parmar of Simi Valley, CA; her daughter Reena Desai of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; her grandchildren Ryan, Rianka, Rowan, Regan, Caitlin, and Lauryn; and her seven brothers and sisters.
